Dear Candace,
I
am a sophomore attending NHS. I had the greatest privilege of seeing
your daughter every day at pre-season and at practice. She was an
amazing player. She made soccer seem like this graceful ballet routine.
I cannot say how much I grieve for you, your family and all the
people who touched both Lauren and your life.
My position is a right fullback. At the game, I looked
back to see Lauren with a smile stretched from ear to ear, a true
sign of her happiness and contentment. Yesterday I looked back at
Lauren all suited up and she said, "I love this team!" She said
it with such dignity.
I feel close to Lauren because we gave each other
the gift of laughter. I prayed to God when she went down.
I thank you and Lauren for letting me be touched by
her. She was an amazing person with a radiant personality. Lauren
is now my angel. I feel her presence watching over me and a sense
of safety. She is an arch angel with a halo and wings that loves
us all still.
I am honored to have played with Lauren and to have
made her smile. May she rest in peace.
Sincerely,
Danielle
