Dear Mrs. Neale-May,
I am one of the varsity girls soccer coaches here
at New Hampton, and as a result, had the privilege of knowing your
daughter, if only for a short while. I don't know if what I have
to say about her will offer you any solace during this terrible
time, I only hope it will.
What
I remember about Lauren is so simple, yet so defining of who she
was. I remember bringing my sister's dog Herkus to practice. Herkus
is a year old Husky, and to sum it up, can be an extreme pain and
annoyance at times. I remember Lauren sitting with Herkus the whole
practice, and I remember how calm and playful he was with her at
his side.
I remember always seeing her smiling despite certain
hardships she may have faced on campus. Always a smile; she loved
her short time here.
I have worked with children who have had problems
in their lives, and there is one thing that you can see from a child
from the minute that you meet them: you can automatically see the
love they had in their life. Of the little I knew of your daughter,
I knew that she had the aura of a happy and loved child. It is a
peace which can only be derived through the unconditional love of
a parent to a child. Obviously you loved Lauren greatly, as obvious
was the fact that she loved you in return. I just want to thank
you for giving her that love, and allowing me to witness something
like that in a child.
My heart is with you as are my prayers. If you have
any questions or need anything, please don't hesitate to get in
touch.
Sincerely,
Sherry
